Attended Remembrance Day ceremony at PP Park with my son and his cubs group, then we headed late to TIBS.

Still hoping from the morning. Missed most of the SOR crowd this morning, but Pat was here. MC and Andrew here on their bikes. My first espresso was Epic, with smell and taste of chocolate overwhelming on top. Unfortunately, plumbing issue shuts it down early today, and I can’t get a second one until tomorrow. I’m steered towards the presspot GUATEMALA LOS ESPÍRITUS sitting in the airpots. Alexis assures me it’s good. And it is very good and I’m only charged 60cents as a refill. I guess they sold out of this new S-O Guatemalan today…

and half of what you see on the INTERNET:

And I still don’t believe what I saw when I was walking back to the Drake from Roncesvalles the other day. (Used to be called Toronto the Good when I grew UP).

Crowded here today. Great to see. But, everyone is telling me Saturday was even busier… SRO
So many people I know seem to be coming from other side of harbor. Just for coffee and/or pastries!!! Imagine that. Even Ted was here once and I don’t know if Hugh has made it from SOR.
Me, I just got a Macpass for bridge, as I suspect there will be more trips to Dartmouth than usual this winter (beyond driving daughter for soccer practices).
After my Zane macc which was great (as always), I get a presspot of the Stumptown Guatemala Finca El Injerto (Bourbon) today. Yesterday, Zane made it for me in the Abid. I think I preferred the Abid. Floral and fruity. Yesterday’s, was more cocoa and brown sugar (almost maple syrup)… Today it is a bit peachy and some mild cocoa as it cools. Zane is not too keen on IT. I’m sure it will be interesting in the siphon.

as long as you can live without latte art, this has become my NEW favorite cafe in YYZ. I love that Peter is committed to bringing unique coffee to YYZ, as Intelli, 49th, and Dark City are way too common here. Having three espresso blends to pick from is very nice. I love the big communal table, the fixtures on ceiling and walls… wallpaper, monocle to read. and of course the beat….

I hope it is successful and remains here for my next trip, whenever that may be in 2010.
